The build up to Chris Eubank Jr. versus Conor Benn has already got spicy and now Carl Froch has made his early fight prediction.
These two generational rivals have always had a keen dislike for each other. It was that way even before their ill-fated first fight in October 2022 was canned late in the day after Benn failed a drug test.
He spent the time since fighting his innocence and was cleared to fight on home soil late last year, which means the two are now set to come together to settle their differences.
Eubank meanwhile has fought three times, losing once to Liam Smith by stoppage but beating him in the same fashion in a rematch before also stopping Kamill Szeremeta back in October.
Speaking on his own Froch on Fighting channel, ‘The Cobra’ compared the resumes of the two fighters.
“I think that all the variables you look at who has done what, whose the bigger, stronger man, who has the experience at world level. Eubank fought Groves, Saunders, beat Arthur Abraham, James DeGale, a former world champion, he’s fought at a better level and proved at a higher weight he belongs at world level.
“Conor Benn has done nothing. Nothing, Yes he knocked out Chris Algieri who is a former champ and looked good doing it but it was a way past his best Algieri.”
He then made his prediction.
“If I’m going to pick my immediate favourite in this fight, I’m going with Chris Eubank Jr.”
The fight takes place on April 26 at Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium in London.
