Carl Froch is confident who comes out on top between Zhilei Zhang and Agit Kabayel.
The two men meet for the WBC interim heavyweight title on Saturday, on the huge Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol rematch card in Saudi Arabia.
It sees Chinese heavy hitter Zhang back in action following his knockout win over Deontay Wilder last June, while Kabayel is back following a stoppage victory over Frank Sanchez in May.
The winner of this weekend’s fight could find themselves in a great position for a future world heavyweight title shot, while there are also potential fights against the likes of fellow contenders Anthony Joshua or Martin Bakole.
Former unified world champion Froch knows full well what it is like to reach the pinnacle of the sport, and he has revealed on his Froch On Fighting YouTube channel who he is tipping between Zhang and Kabayel.
“I just think that Zhang at 41, although he’s a good fighter and capable, I think after six rounds he falls apart. He can bang and has notable wins over Wilder and Joyce, but Parker beat him recently and he gets tired as the fight goes on.
“Kabayel is one of these fighters who has been avoided. I think Kabayel will do a job on Zhang. It might be good and a close fight early on. The first maybe six rounds will be a fight we’ll be sitting and enjoying watching, then Kabayel will take over and get Zhang out of there.
“He’ll either knock him out or the referee will jump in or the corner will throw in the towel. It’s another great fight on a stacked card but for me Kabayel does the business.”
Another man that Froch knows well is Joshua, and the former two-time world heavyweight champion has also revealed who he expects to win between Zhang and Kabayel.
