Chris Eubank Jr. was thouroughly outclassed in his rematch with Conor Benn on Saturday.
The two men did battle at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, seven months on from their first meeting, which was won by Eubank, but Benn was able to gain revenge in emphatic fashion.
He dominated proceedings from start to finish, and even dropped his rival twice in the final round, as the three judges gave Benn the unanimous decision victory with scorecards of 119-107, 116-110, 118-108.
The boxing world has already began to speculate on why Eubank Jr struggled so much, questioning whether the weight finally took its toll, or if age has caught up with him.
One man who has shared his thoughts on Eubank’s performance is former super-middleweight world champion Carl Froch, who whilst speaking on his Froch On Fighting YouTube channel described as ‘a humiliation.’
“Conor Benn has put in the performance of his life. I feel like Chris was humiliated in there. I don’t like to use that word lightly because they’re both warriors in the boxing ring, but that was a humiliation. The performance was that bad from Eubank.”
It’s currently unknown whether or not Eubank Jr will continue with his career after the defeat to Benn, refusing to commit to a decision speaking in his post-fight interview.
As for Benn, it appears that he will now drop back down to welterweight and go in search of a world title opportunity against the likes of WBC champion Mario Barrios or WBA champion Rolly Romero.
