Tyson Fury has revealed his intention to get involved in the upcoming Joseph Parker vs. Fabio Wardley fight.
Fury is a two-time world heavyweight champion, initially winning the WBA, IBF and WBO belts with a victory over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, before a hiatus from the sport. He returned and defeated Deontay Wilder to win the WBC title in 2020.
‘The Gypsy King’ then headed into an undisputed showdown with Oleksandr Usyk in May 2024, but suffered a split decision loss, before also coming up short by unanimous decision in their rematch in December of that same year.
That prompted Fury to announce his retirement from the sport back in January, seemingly scuppering any hopes of a potential showdown with long-time rival Anthony Joshua.
‘The Gypsy King’ has gone back and forth on that decision in recent months, first claiming he will return in 2026 before then saying he actually plans to stay retired.
While there is no update on those retirement plans, in a video posted by Queensberry Promotions, Fury offered to get back in the ring in order to spar Joseph Parker for his upcoming fight against Wardley.
“Do you want to get some work in? I’m ready. I’m ready when you are. Let me know.”
Parker takes on Wardley at The O2 Arena in London on October 25, with the winner expected to be next in line to challenge Usyk for his undisputed crown.
With Fury keen to get back in the ring for sparring, it seems that he could be gearing up for his own return in 2026, in a move that would certainly add even more exciting to the heavyweight division.
