Tyson Fury has had plenty to say on Daniel Dubois‘ infamous fight with Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury is never shy about offering his opinion on his fellow boxers and going after them about their weaknesses. He often conjures nicknames for opponents, whether that’s ‘big stiff robot’ for Joshua or ‘gap-toothed rabbit’ and ‘middleweight sausage’ for Usyk.

Fury is currently retired, having twice lost to Usyk in back-to-back contests in 2024, though many hope he will return once more for an all-British showdown with Joshua before both men leave the sport behind for good.

Right now, it’s Usyk who holds three of the four major belts, and Dubois is in possession of the IBF title, and the pair are meeting in July for an undisputed contest two years after they first fought.

Speaking to Sky Sports Boxing, Fury didn’t hold back on his views of Dubois and how he got on against Usyk the first time around.

“I thought he lost [to Dubois] and he quit so he’s a little, quitting [coward]. And once you quit once you’ll always quit, just like we saw with Dubois. He quit too, so that was two quitters fighting each other.

It’s tough to say somebody’s quit but Usyk quit with a body shot and rattled around the floor like a little [coward] for five minutes and the other one quit with a jab. But the truth is the truth and that’s it.”

The first fight was marred by controversy after Dubois had Usyk down with a body shot that was ruled low. He was given all the time to recover that he needed, which he duly did, then rallied and stopped Dubois in the 9th round, with many, including Fury, believing that ‘DDD’ failed to capitalise on his earlier success.

He will be hoping to do much better the second time around at Wembley Stadium this summer.
