Tyson Fury Announces Whether His Dad John Fury Will Be In His Corner When He Makes His Comeback

Tyson Fury has continued to talk about a possible return to the boxing ring.

The former two-time world champion and long-time WBC ruler retired with an announcement on social media in January following a second loss to Oleksandr Usyk inside 12 months. First time was in May when he failed to become the undisputed champion, and the second time was in December when he was beaten more widely by the Ukrainian.

Many had hoped he would at that point agree to an epic showdown with fellow Brit and former two-time ruler Anthony Joshua, but instead he walked away.

However, last week he teased that he would be up for a return to action next April for a third fight with Usyk, who remains unbeaten and rematches Daniel Dubois for a second shot at the undisputed title next weekend. Failing securing a trilogy with Usyk, Fury is also now open to the possibility of finally facing British rival Anthony Joshua.

Speaking to Seconds Out, Fury was asked if his father John would be in his corner once more if he returns to boxing.

“Yeah, my dad never left.”

This query comes after some of the controversies around ‘Big John’ giving different advice to his son than his head coach SugarHill Steward and assistant Andy Lee during his first fight with Usyk which saw him absent from the corner in the rematch.

Fury has previously confirmed he will also be back working with SugarHill if he comes out of retirement.
