Tyson Fury was watching with interest when Moses Itauma returned to the ring on Saturday.

Itauma went up against Dillian Whyte in a heavyweight bout in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, taking the next step in a professional career that has gone perfectly to date.

Whyte was set to provide the toughest test of Itauma’s career so far, with ‘The Bodysnatcher’ having claimed victories over the likes of Joseph Parker and Derek Chisora during his career.

Despite those past wins, Whyte was unable to produce a similar performance, as he was easily dispatched by Itauma, with the 20-year-old securing a dominant first round knockout victory.

It means that Itauma now has an unbeaten record of 13-0, 11 of those wins coming by knockout, leading to many to label him as the future of the heavyweight division.

One man who has called him that in the past is former two-time world heavyweight champion Fury, with the pair having sparred numerous rounds together before ‘The Gypsy King’ retired from the sport back in January.

After watching the win over Whyte, Fury posted on social media with a simple message that once again heaped praise on the youngster, declaring him ‘the future of boxing.’

“There he is, the future of boxing. [I’ve] been saying it for years.”

Fans have already began to speculate about who Itauma could potentially take on next following his win over Whyte, and he has made it clear whether he would be willing to jump straight in with undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in his next fight.
