Tyson Fury is in camp preparing to try and overturn the first loss of his career and as always his father John Fury is close by.
The relationship between ‘The Gypsy King’ and his dad came under the spotlight towards the end of Tyson’s last fight with Oleksandr Usyk.
That was back in May, and in the later rounds when Fury was in need of turning the fight around because he had fallen behind after taking a huge left hand from Usyk, the perception was that there were mixed messages coming from his corner.
Trainer SugarHill Steward, corner man Andy Lee and ‘Big John’ all seemed to be giving Tyson their own instructions.
Fury has since vowed to keep the same corner for the rematch with the former undisputed cruiserweight and heavyweight champion when it rolls around again on December 21.
Ahead of that, one of Fury’s former sparring partners Johnny Nelson has revealed to Sky Sports Boxing what the relationship has been like between the two in previous camps.
“I remember sparring with Tyson. His dad was ringside, shouting and screaming at him. Tyson stopped and said ‘You get in the ring and spar with him.’ And they’re arguing, Tyson’s used to that.’
