Tyson Fury Warned Of The ‘Phenomenal Power’ Of One Potential Opponent

Tyson Fury is back in the gym and ready to return to boxing after more than a year out of the ring.

The Gypsy King spent the whole of 2025 in retirement following his second consecutive loss to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024.

They remain the only two losses on his ledger, but left him without a belt. Many hoped he would finally agree to fight fellow Brit Anthony Joshua but instead he took time out. He has many options for his return, likely after a tune-up or two first.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Daniel Dubois’s latest trainer, Tony Sims, has warned Fury what he would be up against if he were to face his man.

“I think Daniel can beat anybody. His power is phenomenal. We all know that. In the heavyweight scene, anyone can beat anyone.”

Dubois was last out in August when he was topped for a second time by Usyk, but a year before that he put on his career best showing when he stopped Joshua inside five rounds to retain his IBF world title.

Right now, it seems as though the frontrunner to be Fury’s comeback opponent is Arslanbek Makmudov. The towering Russian who was last seen in a ring against Dave Allen at the Sheffield Arena back in October.

He weathered an early storm and eventually got a hold of the fight to see out a points win using his ramrod job, so he would be a solid fighter to face after a long lay off.
