Tyson Fury Will Fight Anthony Joshua Under One Condition: “If He Gets That He’s There”

Tyson Fury has admitted he is willing to put everything on the line against Anthony Joshua next year, but there are strings attached.

This heavyweight showdown is one of the biggest fights in world boxing and one that fans have been desperate to see for the best part of a decade.

In that time, both men have been world champions, with Fury defeating Wladimir Klitschko to become unified champion, before then leaving the sport for a number of years.

He returned and took the WBC crown off Deontay Wilder in dramatic fashion and defended it in an equally epic rematch before eventually surrendering his belt to the generational great, Oleksandr Usyk.

Usyk is also the man who ultimately dethroned Joshua back in 2021, and neither he nor Fury could reverse the result in their rematch with the Ukrainian legend.

Fury has been retired since January 2024, while Joshua was sidelined from September 2024, when he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois, until last weekend, when he stopped Jake Paul in a mismatch in the United States.

Speaking recently, Fury’s promoter Frank Warren has admitted ‘The Gypsy King’ is keen on the contest, but only on one condition.

“What will encourage Tyson is the financial aspect of it. I believe he’s got the beating of AJ, as does Tyson and the team. It’s all about the value of the fight. It’s a big fight and it’s worth a lot of money. Tyson has his price. If he gets his price, he’ll be in there to fight him.”

In the same interview, Warren said the fight would likely take place in Saudi Arabia as part of Riyadh Season.

“Money will dictate where the fight takes place, it’s as simple as that. They will go where the money is; they’re professional fighters, they go in the ring and take punches for money.”

Although the majority of fans would rather see the fight in the UK, that it might happen at all is still good news.
