A two-time Olympic Gold medalist and potential future world heavyweight champion is set to make his long-awaited return to the ring in April.
Bakhodir Jalolov has not fought since November 2023 when he beat Chris Thompson by knockout. In recent times, he focused on the Olympic Games in Paris where he picked up his second gold medal.
The 30-year-old Uzbek boxer’s record currently sits at 14 fights, 14 wins, 14 KOs. He is yet to fight anyone of real note in the pro ranks, but did beat British heavyweight Frazer Clarke in the amateurs, and also took a loss to Joe Joyce during the 2016 Olympic Games.
Many believe that now he is back in the professional game, Jalolov, who stands at 6ft 7in tall, has what it takes to make it to the very top and become a world champion.
“We plan on moving him very quickly after the Olympics. He is a uniquely talented fighter, and I do not doubt that he’ll one day be a dominant heavyweight champion. His combination of size and power from a southpaw stance doesn’t come around too often. Every time I watch him fight, I am amazed by his composure and unique skill set.”
With the likes of Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua all at or towards the ends of their careers, there is space for a new star to emerge and it could well be Jalolov.
His return comes on April 5 in Satana in Kazakhstan and he will face an as yet unnamed opponent on the undercard of IBF and WBO middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly’s next defence of his unified world titles against Anauel Ngamissengue.
