A highly-rated heavyweight rising star has produced yet another thunderous 1st round knockout victory.

Australia’s 2024 Olympian Teremoana Teremoana secured his ninth consecutive stoppage victory on Saturday as he stopped German Garcia Montes in the opening round of their clash at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.

Reigning IBF and Ring Magazine world cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia topped the bill in Queensland, stopping Huseyin Cinkara in the eighth round of their bout to retain his titles for the fourth time.

Since making his professional debut back in December of 2020, Teremoana – who promoter Eddie Hearn has predicted will go on to become world champion – has defeated all nine of his opponents via stoppage, producing no less than seven victories inside the very first round along the way.

The 27-year-old from New South Wales has established himself as one of the most exciting heavyweights in the sport over the last couple of years, with many fans and analysts expecting the Australian to become a world heavyweight champion in the future.

Teremoana is now expected to make his 10th ring appearance as a professional during the first quarter of 2026, as he looks to edge even closer to securing himself a dream world title shot. Pre-fight, he told Boxing Scene:

“Next year we’re looking to have a really busy year. I’ve been told my first fight will probably be early in the year – March; they haven’t given me a date – so I’m just getting ready for that. I’ve been staying in the gym the past year, so after this I’m going to get back in the gym; stay ready. I’ll fight whoever they put in front of me.”
