The upcoming Gervonta Davis vs. Jake Paul fight has a lot of the boxing world talking.

It was announced last month that Davis and Paul would collide in a shock battle at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday 14 November.

The fight will see WBA lightweight champion Davis taking on a man that is eight inches taller and nearly 70lbs heavier than him, with Youtuber-turned-boxer Paul having competed at cruiserweight for the majority of his career to date.

A lot of boxing figures have already weighed in on the clash, with some of the rivals that ‘Tank’ knows very well having their say.

Davis collided with Ryan Garcia in April 2023, with ‘King Ry’ suffering a seventh round stoppage defeat, and he confidently revealed on social media that he expects Paul to win.

“if the fight does happen I’d bet on the heavyweight.”

A man who has been linked to a fight with Davis for a number of years disagrees though, as WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson was assertive when he was asked by TMZ if Paul has any chance of claiming the victory.

“No. Nope. Not at all. Tank has been boxing his whole life. I doubt [Jake Paul’s power] is gonna be an issue. I think Jake is good for where he’s at, but I think there’s just levels … ‘[Tank wins] by decision. That guy’s too big, I don’t think he’s gonna knock that guy out. I don’t see him knocking him out, no.”

It’s still yet to be officially announced what the weight class will be for the fight, as well as the rules regarding rounds, gloves and knockdowns, although Paul himself has revealed what he has to weigh.
