Ryan Garcia is edging closer towards finalising his return to the ring just weeks after his world title triumph.
The 27-year-old from California made his long-awaited comeback last month when he defeated countryman Mario Barrios via unanimous decision to capture the WBC world welterweight title at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Garcia put on arguably the best display of his professional career to date as he dropped ‘El Azteca’ in the opening round before dominating for the remainder of the bout to finally win world honours and bring an end to what had been a frustrating 18 months.
As rumours begin to circulate about what could be next for ‘King Ryan’, the 27-year-old has been linked with a potential showdown with former WBO world lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis, who is said to be open to facing Garcia next.
In recent footage shared by DAZN Boxing, Garcia and Davis can be seen facing off ahead of what would promise to be a thrilling encounter between the American duo, although it remains to be seen whether their paths will indeed cross next.

Davis made his return to the ring on January 31 as he stopped Jamaine Ortiz in the 12th and final round of their non-title clash at Madison Square Garden in New York City, his first ring appearance in just under one year.
‘The Businessman’ previously held the WBO world title at 135lbs although he was stripped of the title prior to his scheduled defence against Edwin De Los Santos last June when he failed to make weight.
