Ryan Garcia Didn’t Hesitate When Asked If Conor Benn Can Win A World Title At Welterweight

Ryan Garcia has been assessing Conor Benn‘s chances of winning his first world title in the welterweight division.

Benn is riding high off the biggest win of his career. Back in November, he beat his long-time generational rival Chris Eubank Jr with a near-perfect shutout across 12 rounds, though many suspect that Eubank’s below-par performance was down to weight-drain issues, and he has since spoken about lingering health problems he had been dealing with.

Off the back of the win, Benn has called out many different fighters in the welterweight division as he looks to push on and compete for his first strap.

Speaking to Covers.com, one of those men he has mentioned, Ryan Garcia, went in on Benn’s chances of winning a world title

“I don’t think he’s at the level he thinks he’s at, I’ll tell you that. I don’t think that Eubank had enough skills, or felt good enough. I just think Conor is young, and I think he’s hungry, and I think he fights that way, but I don’t think he’s that good, if that makes sense.

“His style is a brawler. But boxers will always beat brawlers. A good boxer will always beat a good brawler, for sure. I don’t think he beats any of the top-level dudes at 147, but if he believes it, we could all run it. If he wants a big name, I would love to come to the UK and take all your fans. That would be ecstatic. And guess what? The UK fans are the best.”

Benn has also mentioned the likes of WBC champion Mario Barrios and multi-weight ruler Devin Haney as possible opponents, though none have yet emerged as likely options in early 2026.
