Ryan Garcia has had his say on a potential showdown between Shakur Stevenson and Keyshawn Davis.

Garcia is preparing to make his return to the ring after serving a one-year suspension following his clash with Devin Haney last April, after he tested positive for a banned substance in the lead-up.

The 26-year-old from California had originally been declared the winner in a career best performance against Haney, only for the fight to be ruled a no-contest in light of the news that ‘King Ry’ had failed a drugs test.

Garcia now returns to the ring on May 2 when he faces former world champion Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero in Times Square, New York City. He is then set to fight Haney in a rematch this year, so long as he comes through his showdown with ‘Rolly’ unscathed.

In an interview with ESNEWS, Garcia was asked to predict the winner of a fight between Stevenson and Davis, who both currently reign as world lightweight title holders.

“I think right now Shakur, because he knows his lil bro really well, you know they’ve sparred many times but I think when Keyshawn you know matures and grows up I think he’ll be able to take on Shakur.”

Despite Garcia’s prediction for what would be a mouthwatering clash, it’s highly unlikely that Stevenson and ‘The Businessman’ will ever face one another, given their close-knit relationship outside of the ring.

One fight that could happen for either man though is one against WBA lightweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, who looks to be on a collision course for a unification showdown against both fighters after a rematch with Lamont Roach Jr.
