Garcia Retains European Crown In London

Sergio Garcia made a successful first defence of his European junior middleweight title with a dominant 12 round points win over the previously unbeaten Ted Cheeseman at the 02 in London n Saturday night.

Garcia,29-0-(13), from Spain, was judged the winner clearly on two cards by scores of 119-109 but the third judge somehow made the bout a lot closer at 115-114.

On the undercard Cruiserweight Lawrence Okolie made it 11-0-(8), as a pro by taking out Tamas Lodi, 20-12-2-(17) inside three rounds. Lodi hit the canvas four times before the bout was stopped.

Felix Cash won the vacant Commonwealth middleweight title by blasting out the overmatched Rasheed Abolaji after just 2,45 of the opening round.
