Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are closing in on their legacy-defining clash and fellow heavyweight Murat Gassiev has revealed how he thinks the fight may go.
Gassiev is a former unified cruiserweight champion who held two of the major world titles between 2016 and 2018. His only loss in that division came in an undisputed contest, which he lost to Oleksandr Usyk before both men then moved up.
Gasiev has lost just once at heavyweight to Otto Wallin and since then has beaten Kubrat Pulev and Peter Kadiru to win and then retain the WBA strap.
Speaking to Seconds Out, he was asked how he sees Fury and Joshua getting on when they fight later in the year.
“Two crazy rounds for Anthony against Prenga. One not strong uppercut and then he go down. Look, Anthony, a lot of experience; Tyson, a lot of experience, a lot of tough fights, three fights against Deontay Wilder.
“Anthony more stronger like a classic fighter, classic boxing school. Tyson like snake. I don’t know, my decision is if the fight goes 12 rounds, Tyson [will] win by decision; if Anthony wins, [it will be] only by knockout.”
Joshua recovered well after the early knockdowns in his last fight and stopped Prenga with a solid combination in the second round, while Fury laboured across seven rounds before Marius Wach retired in their fight the night before.
Right now, November is the most likely time these two Brits will clash, though no exact date or location has yet been revealed.
