George Groves is one of many people finding it hard to settle on a winner between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn.

These two British fighters finally come to blows on Saturday after almost three years of back-and-forth since their first fight was cancelled. That was due to Benn testing positive for a banned substance. While battling to clear his name, he has fought just twice in the interim. Both were out in the United States against lower level opponents and points wins.

Eubank has fought Liam Smith twice, scoring a stoppage in the rematch after being stopped for the first time in their initial fight. Last October, he also stopped Kamil Szeremeta.

The 35-year-old is the naturally bigger and more experienced fighter who has competed against the likes of Groves at super-middleweight and held his own, though losing over the distance.

Speaking to FightLens, Groves explained he is finding it hard to pick a winner now despite first backing Eubank given how much has happened to both men in the last few years.

“I’ll be honest. I don’t want to pick a winner right now. I’ve swayed left, I’ve swayed right. When the fight was first made, I thought Eubank was maybe too big.

“This time round, I think actually a lot has happened in the two years, maybe Eubank has seen his best days. He avenged that loss against Smith and looked like he rejuvenated himself and now it comes down to who can hold their head because it’s going to be an intense build-up.”

The boxing world seems split on the outcome, with many backing Eubank for the size and experience while others, including Ricky Hatton, believe Benn can move up to middleweight and win with his determination and youth.
