George Groves has given his view on how a fight might go down between Daniel Dubois and Moses Itauma.

These two young heavyweights are likely to dominate in the division over the coming years, as older fighters like Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury all retire.

27-year-old Dubois has beaten the likes of Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic, twice lost to Usyk in world title fights but knocked out Joshua on his way to becoming IBF heavyweight champion last September. His ring return is currently unknown, but could come as early as December this year.

20-year-old Itauma is a breakout star who was hugely impressive last time out when he stopped Dillian Whyte inside two rounds. His record is now 13 and 0 with 11 KOs and nine inside the first two rounds.

A bout between Dubois and Itauma has been speculated by some boxing fans, and speaking to FightLens, former super-middleweight world champion Groves expressed his belief that Itauma might have too much for ‘DDD’ even at this early stage in his career.

“Dubois’ got to come back to the drawing board and if those two fought now I’d probably pick Moses Itauma to beat him even though he’s not got the experience, that’s how much I rate this guy.”

Itauma spoke in the ring after his last fight about being ready to take on the two-time undisputed ruler Usyk, and though many believe it is too soon, David Haye insists not.

Instead, he has also been linked with names like Andy Ruiz Jr, while fellow undefeated prospect Richard Torrez Jr has called him out recently too.
