Gervonta Davis is considered to be one of the best active fighters right now.
The Baltimore boxer has secured a couple of marquee wins in his career including impressive knockouts of Leo Santa Cruz a few years ago, and the currently suspended Ryan Garcia back in April of 2023. In his last fight, after more than a year out of the ring, he finished off Frank Martin in the eighth round with a devastating combination that left his man unable to beat the count.
However, many people feel frustrated by ‘Tank’s’ relative inactivity and hope that he now pushes on and takes on some of the top names in his division in order to really prove his status as a pound-for-pound star.
Some of those opponents include the likes of Shakur Stevenson, Teofimo Lopez and Vasiliy Lomachencko.
Lomachenko became the first man to stop George Kambosos Jr in May to get the IBF world title and is now favourite to face Davis next.
With hype for a clash between the two stars building a clip from FightHype has resurfaced where ‘Loma’ once branded his rival ‘the best fighter on twitter’.
“You know, I think he’s the best of the best fighter on Twitter.”
‘Tank’ is well known to tweet and delete, often throwing insults at his rivals, former mentors, other promoters or fans before removing them from the platform.
Reports suggested this week that the Ukrainian would be willing to step aside from the fight so ‘Tank’ could face Shakur Stevenson instead. However his promoter, Bob Arum, has rubbished these claims and confirmed that talks between the two teams will resume shortly.
