Gervonta Davis Called Out By Legendary Champion Who Hasn’t Fought In 4 Years: “I’m Not Scared”

Gervonta Davis is being targeted for a showdown against a retired multi-weight world champion.

The 30-year-old from Baltimore, Maryland made his professional debut back in 2013, and since then has enjoyed considerable success by winning world titles across three weight divisions, where he currently reigns as the WBA world lightweight title.

‘Tank’ came extremely close to being dethroned of his WBA crown when he faced Lamont Roach Jr on March 1, although the fight was declared a split decision draw after 12 close-fought rounds. It is expected that a rematch that will take place between the pair in the coming months.

One fighter who appears to be interested in locking horns with the unbeaten 30-year-old is retired eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, who is reportedly open to the idea of making a sensational return to the sport.

In an interview with Seconds Out, ‘Pac-Man’ was tasked with naming who he would be interested in facing if he was to lace the gloves up in the near future.

“Either I can fight Floyd again, or I can fight anybody like Gervonta Davis.”

The 46-year-old from the Philippines then followed this up by saying he’s ‘not scared’ of anyone, when asked about the risks of facing someone as young and as active as ‘Tank’.

Pacquiao has not fought since he was beaten by Yordenis Ugas back in 2021 in his bid to become a world welterweight champion once again. The 46-year-old is reportedly keeping his options open for a return to the ring, although it remains to be seen whether his plans will come to fruition.
