Gervonta Davis has issued a significant update on his professional career ahead of his upcoming clash with Jake Paul.
The unbeaten WBA world lightweight champion is set to face the Youtuber-turned-boxer over ten rounds on Friday November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
It was revealed at a press conference earlier this week that their controversial exhibition bout will have a maximum weight limit of 195lbs in place for both fighters, putting an end to weeks of speculation surrounding this important detail.
It’s also been confirmed that both fighters will be required to wear 12oz gloves on fight night, and despite it being dubbed as an exhibition, there will be three judges assigned to score the bout at ringside to determine a winner.
‘Tank’ revealed at the beginning of the year that there were plans in place for him to call time on his professional career by the end of 2025, and although there were doubts about these claims initially, the 30-year-old has finally spoken out and addressed the rumours.
In response to a post on social media, Davis sensationally confirmed that he will draw the curtain on his career after he faces ‘The Problem Child’ in November.

This news will come as a big disappointment to boxing fans and analysts around the world as it effectively confirms that the much anticipated ‘super-fight’ between Davis and Shakur Stevenson may never happen, another high-profile contest that the boxing community appear to have missed out on.
