Gervonta Davis has finally spoken out and revealed his favourite boxer of all time.

The 30-year-old from Baltimore, Maryland has enjoyed a successful career to date which has saw him win world title across three weight divisions. ‘Tank’ is the current holder of the WBA lightweight title, which he is set to defence once again against Lamont Roach Jr in New York City on March 1.

Davis has set his sights on the biggest possible if he can come through his fight against Roach unscathed. WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson and newly-crowned WBO lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis remain potential opponents for ‘Tank’. The 30-year-old revealed at the end of last year that he could actually retire from boxing before 2025 ends, claiming he has ‘grown tired’ of the sport.

Speaking on A Safe Place Podcast, Davis couldn’t seem to separate Floyd Mayweather Jr and Sugar Ray Leonard when asked to name his favourite boxer of all time.

“I would say Sugar Ray Leonard and Floyd Mayweather.”

Davis spent the early stages of his professional career being promoted by Mayweather Promotions, before they went their separate ways back in 2022. ‘Tank’ has previously revealed his interest in a fight against Mayweather, even going as far as to naming a bout between him and ‘Money’ on his ‘dream fight card’.

Mayweather has not fought as a professional since he defeated MMA legend Conor McGregor back in 2017, although the 47-year-old from Grand Rapids, Michigan has had a number of exhibition contests where he has faced the likes of Logan Paul, Tenshin Nasukawa and John Gotti III.
