Gervonta Davis is widely regarded to be one of the most ferocious fighters active today.
‘Tank’ is something of a wrecking ball who has knocked out 28 of his 30 opponents to date. Most recently that was Frank Martin in defence of his WBA Lightweight World title. Last April, he stopped Ryan Garcia with a savage body shot and has previously knocked out the likes of Leo Santa Cruz and Rolando Romero.
Despite the power the Baltimore boxer carries in both fists and his seemingly unflappable persona, he recently admitted that he got nervous before the fight with Garcia. It was a big pay-per-view showdown that really catapulted both boxers onto the global stage.
“I was nervous. When his brother came in and said ‘you’re gonna feel it’ I was like what? I heard what he said but I kept asking him, ‘what?’ I was nervous. It was just me seeing him knock out so many people. Seeing him knockout people in the gym, in the clips, I was like what the hell. But, he wasn’t patient. If he was more patient maybe he would have landed some of them shots.”
TANK said he was NERVOUS going into the fight‼️
Tank said it was because he seen RYAN knock out people in the gym and in videos‼️
But we seen how that ended. #BOXINGnBBQ#Boxing#DavisGarcia

Davis has long been linked with plenty of other big-name champions in and around his division including the likes of Shakur Stevenson, Devin Haney and Vasily Lomachenko – the most likely next opponent according to both teams.
Should he make a deal with the elite Ukrainian, fans would see a lightweight unification fight with the winner holding both the WBA and IBF straps.
