Gervonta Davis has spoken out after his controversial showdown with Jake Paul was announced last week.

The unbeaten 30-year-old from Baltimore, Maryland will face Paul in an exhibition contest on Friday November 14 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The rules for the bout are yet to be agreed.

Davis was initially pencilled in to face fellow countryman Lamont Roach Jr for the second time, after their controversial first encounter back in March ended in a draw with many fans and analysts expressing their frustration at the result on Roach’s behalf. These rematch plans are now shelved, much to the disappointment of Roach and his fans.

Whilst going back and forth with his rival on social media, Davis sent a tirade of scathing messages.

“Exactly, because you a b***h. Now go sit down and put ya hand on ya chin and figure out how that happen to ya mans. Same way I put food in ya mouth, I took it.”

He later posted the cryptic:

“It’s no fun when the rabbit has the gun.”

Roach returned as good as he got, once again accusing ‘Tank’ of ducking him.

There have been concerns raised about Davis sharing the ring with Paul, especially considering the 30-year-old stands eight inches shorter than ‘The Problem Child’ and typically weighs around 60 pounds lighter.

Roach is now expected to take a different route, with rumours that he could be handed an opportunity to face countryman and reigning WBC world lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson in early 2026.
