Gervonta Davis has produced a number of highlight reel knockouts throughout his career.
The reigning WBA lightweight champion has won 30 of his fights, 28 of them by stoppage, having knocked out the likes of Ryan Garcia, Leo Santa Cruz, Frank Martin, Rolly Romero and Mario Barrios from super-featherweight up to super-lightweight.
The only time that ‘Tank’ wasn’t victorious in his career came last time out, when he was held to a majority decision draw against Lamont Roach at the Barclays Center in New York in March, with the pair expected to rematch in Las Vegas in August.
While the boxing world waits for those two men to battle once again, another reigning world champion has emerged as one of the biggest punchers in the sport after a brutal knockout victory this week.
Brian Norman Jr was defending his WBO welterweight title against Jin Sasaki in Japan, claiming a devastating fifth round knockout victory to retain his belt and extend his unbeaten record to 28-0 with 22 knockouts.

The nature of the powerful shot that earned him the victory has seen Norman Jr’s stock go up massively in recent days, and now Davis is the latest to heap praise on the 24-year-old.
Posting on social media, ‘Tank’ responded to a claim that Norman Jr had recorded the Knockout of the Year with his win, and Davis needed just one word to give his view.
“Definitely.”
Attention has already turned to who Norman Jr will potentially take on next, with unification bouts an option for the hard-hitting American.
