Gervonta Davis has clarified his s calling time on his professional career.
The 30-year-old from Baltimore, Maryland announced in the lead-up to his March 1 showdown with Lamont Roach Jr that he would be hanging his gloves up at the end of 2025, a decision that sent shockwaves throughout the sport.
Reigning WBA lightweight champion Davis fought to a split decision draw against Roach in an entertaining yet closely fought twelve round battle in New York, with a rematch now set to take place between the pair in August.
‘Tank’ remains on a collision course with countryman and unbeaten WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson, although it remains to be seen whether a showdown between the pair will ever come to fruition, much to the disappointment of fans around the world.
However, as revealed on A Safe Place Podcast, ‘Tank’ confirmed he has now made a u-turn on his decision to draw the curtain on his career by the end of the year, stating there ‘there are more heads to put on a wall’
