Gervonta Davis Repeatedly Names One World Champion He’s Still Targeting: “I Want Him”

WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis has reportedly made multiple calls for a showdown with one fighter in particular as he gears up to make his return to the ring.

The 30-year-old from Baltimore, Maryland is set to face Youtuber-turned-fighter Jake Paul in a scheduled ten round exhibition contest on Friday November 14 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

‘Tank’ made his most recent ring appearance back in March when he fought to a draw against fellow countryman Lamont Roach Jr, although many viewers had felt that the result should have gone in favour of ‘The Reaper’ after a closely fought contest.

One man that has been on Davis’ radar for a number of years now is unbeaten WBC world lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson, although a showdown between the American duo is yet to come to fruition.

Speaking on Sway’s Universe, former Showtime executive Stephen Espinoza, who is now involved with helping PBC, revealed to Stevenson that ‘Tank’ has reiterated his desire to face the WBC lightweight champion on a number of occasions.

“I’ll tell you this. Tank has definitely said repeatedly ‘I want to fight Shakur, I want to fight Shakur.”

Boxing fans remain hopeful that the unbeaten American duo will finally lock horns in the near future, although ‘Tank’ Davis is expected to have to come through his upcoming clash with Jake Paul unscathed if that fight with Stevenson has any chance of taking place.
