Gervonta Davis Asks Shakur Stevenson One Direct Question And It Will Determine Who Wins Fight

A Gervonta Davis versus Shakur Stevenson match-up is one the most intriguing clash of styles in the sport.

Stevenson is a three-weight world champion at just 27 years-old and is the current WBC lightweight belt holder. He’s rated amongst the most skilled fighters in boxing and adheres the old adage of ‘hit and don’t get hit’. However, his last two performances, although convincing wins, have draw some criticism from pundits for the less than fan-friendly style.

Davis on the other hand delivers excitement in almost every contest he’s involved in. The Baltimore native boats a record of 30 wins from 30 fights with 28 coming by way of knockout. The WBA champion is sometimes willing to concede the early rounds, such is his confidence in the power he carries, knowing he can end a fight at any moment.

When asked about Shakur on the Morning Kombat show, and told how good a boxer he is, ‘Tank’ questioned the threat he brings due to his lack of power.

“He didn’t even have power at 126 or 130 or none of that”.

“Okay, all that stuff is okay. How can you stop people that can actually hit? No matter all that boxing, you’re going to get hit.”

Davis then went on to pose one question to his rival ahead of a potential unification fight.

“What are you going to do when you get hit?”

After Vasiliy Lomachenko pulled out of negotiations to face ‘Tank’ next a fight against Stevenson looked closer than ever, but Shakur will now be taking on former super-featherweight champion Joe Cordina.
