An exhibition fight between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis has been pulled less than two weeks out from the event.

The two big names were set to face off on November 14, with the card being streamed live by Netflix similar to Paul’s clash with Mike Tyson late last year.

However, following news that Davis is facing an extremely serious civil lawsuit, accused of battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress, the bout has been pulled. Alongside the news, Paul said:

“Gervonta Davis is an actual walking human piece of garbage. Working with him is an absolute nightmare.

“The unprofessionalism, the bizarre requests, the showing up hours late to shoots. To the numerous arrests and related accusations and lawsuits.

“If you support this man you support the most vile sin a man can commit. I didn’t want to give this woman abuser a platform to grow his fans and to grow his bank account.”

Speaking on Instagram, one of ‘Tank’s coaching team, Kenny Ellis, said that he believes Paul was ‘scared’ to face their charge.

“Netflix did not pull the fight. Jake Paul said it throughout the promotion that he was scared more than ever before a fight, facing Gervonta Davis. The closer the fight got the more reality was getting to him so he put his escape plan in effect. He was scared, he said it out of his mouth over and over again. The fear was real.”

Ellis, who works alongside trainer Calvin Ford in Davis’ corner, then accused Paul of being off the agreed weight – an absurd 195lbs.

“Two weeks from the fight and let’s not forget Jake’s contracted weight is 195lbs. I bet if he gets on the scale today he’s nowhere near fight weight. It’s so many games being played.”

Finally, Ellis’ only mention of the serious accusations against Davis was fleeting.

“Netflix did not pull the fight, so don’t blame Gervonta Davis accusations. Jake Paul has a far worse record.”

Paul is now searching for a replacement opponent, with the event pushed back until December. His team has reportedly reached out to numerous names, including Francis Ngannou, who called the offer ‘disrespectful.’
