Gervonta Davis is one of the biggest stars in the sport of boxing and with that comes the ability to pick and choose who he faces.

‘Tank’ is coming off another spectacular knockout victory, dispatching of Frank Martin in the eighth round with an uppercut followed by a brutal left hook.

Fans are now hoping the Baltimore native stays active and steps up the level of opposition, with the talent around his weight class being some of the best in the sport.

In an interview with Stephen A Smith, Davis’ coach, Calvin Ford made it clear they have a hit-list of future opponents.

“I want him to get all of them that ran their mouth, you understand what I’m saying?”

He went on to say they had ticked Ryan Garcia off the list and would get Vasiliy Lomachenko ‘soon’, but the fighter who has trash talked ‘Tank’ the most is Shakur Stevenson – and Ford knows Davis will get him in the ring eventually.

“Shakur, he’s gonna get it. He know he’s gonna get it, it’s just Bob [Arum] that’s in charge of that. Bob knows what he’s doing, you can’t tell him how to run his game cause he’s a vet at this he’s been doing it so many years.

That’s gonna happen. All those fighters that we want, they have no choice. They’re gonna take the fight when it’s time to take the fight. It’s just right now who’s gonna take the fight? That’s the question.”

With Shakur’s next fight against Artem Harutyunyan on July 6 being the last under his Top Rank contract, Ford may get his wish if the three-weight world champion becomes a free agent or signs with a promoter willing to make the fight.
