George Groves Asked If Moses Itauma Beats Both Anthony Joshua And Tyson Fury

George Groves has been talking about Moses Itauma‘s chances against contemporary heavyweight stars Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

There has been plenty of change in the landscape at the top of the banner division in recent years. After a long time at the top, Joshua has now been without a belt for a couple of years since his losses to Oleksandr Usyk and then a devastating KO at the hands of Daniel Dubois back in September 2024.

Fury has been retired ever since January 2024, shortly after he was twice beaten by Usyk and relieved of his WBC belt. Usyk is the two-time undisputed ruler who decided to vacate his WBO belt, which Fabio Wardley has picked up and will defend against Dubois.

Meanwhile, 21-year-old Itauma got another impressive win this last weekend when he stopped the durable American Jermaine Franklin inside six rounds – something neither Joshua or Dillian Whyte managed to do.

Speaking to Fruity King, Groves didn’t hesitate to predict who would win if Itauma were to fight Joshua or Fury now.

“Moses beats Joshua. He’s just too quick, too sharp, too fast. Joshua’s head has always been a little bit too static, he’d probably stop him. Tyson Fury in shape could probably negate Moses for a couple of rounds, but he won’t be dangerous.

“Moses is just too fresh, too sharp, I think he’ll hurt him, possibly stop him. The only guy in the world who I think beats Moses right now is Oleksandr Usyk.”

Itauma’s promoter, Frank Warren, suggested Itauma will be back in July with a big fight, while Fury makes his return against Arslandbek Makmuhdov in April, and Joshua is not yet scheduled to fight anyone.
