One celebrated former boxing star will not be allowed into the area when Jake Paul fights Anthony Joshua.

This controversial but nonetheless much talked about and highly anticipated contest is one of the most high-pressure fights of Joshua’s career.

He is a former two-time unified champion with more than a decade’s worth of experience in the ring, so anything less than a swift knockout of his 13-fight opponent will leave him with a damaged reputation.

It is a fully licensed fight with 10oz gloves across eight rounds, though this week it was revealed the ring will be larger than its usual at 22 x 22 feet.

Speaking on his channel, Froch on Fighting, former super-middleweight world champion and Hall of Fame inductee Carl Froch revealed that he will not be allowed to the fight and explained why he thinks that’s wrong.

“A lot of people will say ‘what do you expect? You’ve been giving Jake Paul sh*t for years.’ But listen, I’ve not been giving him sh*t for no reason. I’ve been giving him my professional opinion.

“Decades in the boxing ring, I’ve been boxing since I was eight years old. Amateur, professional, world champion, Hall of Fame. First Englishman to medal in the world amateur championships.

“I’m entitled to give my honest opinion, I’m qualified, I’ve got the CV, it stacks up, if I can’t give my honest opinion about Jake Paul and how he can’t fight and say he’s making a mockery of the sport, then what can I do? I’d like to see some of the press there present ask what is the reason? There is no valid reason.”

Froch has always been forthright with his views and has come to verbal blows with the likes of Tyson Fury’s father John, and even Joshua.

With or without ‘The Cobra’ present, the Paul vs. Joshua fight goes ahead this Friday night live on Netflix.
