As he prepares to make his return to the ring, Devin Haney has been targeted for a showdown with an unbeaten former world champion.

‘The Dream’ was last in action back in November when he outclassed countryman Brian Norman Jr to capture the WBO world welterweight title at the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Haney floored Norman in the second round of their clash and would go on to get the nod on all three of the judges scorecards to become a world champion in a fourth weight division.

Rumours have already began circulating about what will be next for Haney, with reports suggesting that the 27-year-old from California could make a return to the ring during the summer against WBA champion Rolly Romero.

One man that appears to be open to a potential clash with ‘The Dream’ is former WBO world lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis, who revealed in a recent interview that he would ‘love’ to face his countryman next.

“I would love to fight Devin Haney, for sure. I would love to fight him. I think we all seen the video when Bill [Haney] told me to stand on my word before I fought Jamaine Ortiz, and I told my manager J Prince, I said “J, after I knocked Jamaine out, you know they’re gonna be scared to fight me, right?”.

“He said “Well I feel you Keyshawn, let’s just get the job done”. I said “We gonna get it done but you know they’re gonna be scared to fight me, right?”. So I knocked him out and we never heard, we ain’t hear nothing since the fight.

“I ain’t really hear nothing from nobody since the fight, you know what I’m saying? So hopefully DAZN and Top Rank can get somebody credible in the ring with me because it’s that time.”

Davis made his long-awaited return to the ring on January 31 when he stopped Jamaine Ortiz in the 12th and final round of their non-title bout at Madison Square Garden.

‘The Businessman’ is expected to be back in action within the next couple of months as he sets his sights on becoming a two-weight world champion after he made the move up to light-welterweight.
