Devin Haney has mixed it with some of the best fighters from this current era.
The 26-year-old has achieved plenty in the sport despite still being a relatively young age, having become a two-weight world champion, and undisputed at lightweight.
During that time he has defeated fighters such as Regis Prograis, George Kambosos Jr and Jorge Linares, but the boxing world tends to agree who are the two toughest opponents he has faced.
Haney fought Vasiliy Lomachenko back in May 2023, claiming a unanimous decision win to retain his undisputed lightweight titles, but it was a controversial verdict as some fans felt that the Ukrainian should have been the winner.
‘The Dream’ then took on Ryan Garcia in his last outing in April 2024, and was dropped several times by ‘King Ry’ on his way to a surprise points defeat, though it was later changed to a no contest after Garcia failed a drug test.
Having shared the ring with both Lomachenko and Garcia, Haney was asked by Not Just Boxing who was the harder fight out of the two, and he went with his battle against the Ukrainian.
“I would say so far Loma. He’s definitely a Hall of Famer. He had a lot of tools and a lot of experience and it made me a better fighter.
“The better the opponent the better I am .The more I step it up. You saw that against Lomachenko. A Hall of Famer. Fighting the best I rise to the occasion.”
