Devin Haney has shared his verdict on the sensational return of Manny Pacquiao.
‘Pac-Man’ appeared to roll back the years and put on an impressive display against the 30-year-old from Texas, but ultimately it wasn’t enough as the fight was declared a majority decision draw with two of the judges scoring the bout 114-114, and the other scoring it 115-113 in favour of Barrios.
Despite the bout ending in a stalemate, many fans and analysts believe the Filipino icon should have had his hand raised which would have saw 46-year-old become the oldest world welterweight champion of all time, breaking the record that he actually set himself with a win over Keith Thurman in 2019.
Speaking to FightHype just moments after the fight, former undisputed world lightweight champion Haney admitted that he believes Pacquiao should have won, as he reveals exactly how he scored it.
“I think Manny won, 7-5.”
‘Pac-Man’ has already announced that he will fight on and continue his boxing career, after it had been speculated that the eight division world champion could have stepped back into retirement after facing ‘El Azteca’.
It remains to be seen whether he will pursue a rematch against Barrios next, sparking rumours that he could actually face former rival and retired five-weight world champion Floyd Mayweather for a second time, ten years on from their monumental showdown which ended with ‘Money’ defeating Pacquiao via unanimous decision.
