Newly-crowned WBO welterweight champion Devin Haney has already set his sights on adding yet another belt to his collection.

The 27-year-old from California put on arguably the best performance of his career to date against Brian Norman Jr on November 22, defeating his countryman via unanimous decision to capture the WBO 147lb world title at the ANB Arena in Riyadh.

Haney bounced back from being on a disappointing run of form to become a world champion in a third weight class as well as handing the heavy-handed Norman the first defeat of his career in the process.

‘The Dream’ is already eyeing up his next move as he sets his sights on securing an intriguing unification showdown with one unbeaten world champion in particular.

Speaking to YSM Sports Media, promoter Eddie Hearn revealed details of a conversation he had with Haney’s father Bill, who has expressed an interest in making a fight between his son and IBF world welterweight champion Lewis Crocker.

“So you know, he [Haney] wants to fight Lewis Crocker, our welterweight world champion. It’s a unification fight so we’ll see. We’re not against the idea but we got plans.”

Crocker captured the IBF welterweight title back in September when he defeated rival Paddy Donovan by split decision in their highly-anticipated rematch at Windsor Park in Belfast.

The 28-year-old appears to be keen on securing himself a huge fight next which could come in the form of an exciting two belt unification showdown with Haney at some stage in 2026.
