Two-time world heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman has shared his thoughts on whether he believes Oleksandr Usyk is one of the greatest fighters of all time.
Usyk is widely considered to be one of, if not the greatest heavyweight of his entire generation, becoming the first fighter of the ‘four belt era’ to win the undisputed world championship on two separate occasions.
The 38-year-old from Ukraine was last in action back in July when he stopped Britain’s Daniel Dubois in the fifth round of their historic rematch at Wembley Stadium in London, England.
As rumours begin to circulate about what will be next for Usyk, Rahman has shared his own verdict on the credentials of the pound-for-pound great.
Speaking to Fight Hype, Rahman admitted that he believes Usyk is one of the greatest fighters ever, as he claims the Ukrainian icon does not actually get the credit that he deserves in a shock statement.
“I put him in that greatest of all times category. Based on statistics, and what he’s done, I don’t see nobody who matched him. All I know is Usyk won a gold medal, the only one who unified four cruiserweight titles then moved up to heavyweight and unified four heavyweight titles. That’s never been done. I don’t think people are giving him the credit he deserves.”
It has been revealed by multiple sources over the last few weeks that Usyk will make his highly-anticipated return to the ring very soon, with reports suggesting that he will defend his unified WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles against Deontay Wilder.
