Eddie Hearn thinks he has signed a boxing star who could go on to become a world heavyweight champion.
Hearn has long had a big hand in the banner division with his fighters. Most notably, he guided Olympic gold medallist Anthony Joshua from the moment he turned professional to becoming the unified champion twice.
Joshua had huge nights and sold out Wembley Stadium in London and Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on his way to the top, while Hearn has also represented the likes of Joseph Parker, Dillian Whyte, Oleksandr Usyk and Derek Chisora.
Usyk currently holds three of the four belts, with the fourth held by Fabio Wardley, who puts it on the line against former champion Daniel Dubois at Co-Op Live in Manchester in May.
Speaking to iFL TV, Hearn hyped up his latest Australian signing Teremoana Teremoana and claimed he could take over the division.
“Teremoana is like the hottest thing right now in Australian boxing. Everybody is talking about him. He’s 10 wins, 10 knockouts, I believe he is a future heavyweight champion.”
Teremoana is 28-years-old and stands 6ft 6 tall. After turning professional in 2020, he temporarily returned to the amateur scene to represent Australia in the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris but lost in the quarter-finals.
All of his wins have come inside the first two rounds and he made another step up on Wednesday when he knocked out hard-hitting veteran Bowie Tupou in Melbourne, on a card that was headlined by Australia’s interim WBC super bantamweight star Skye Nicolson, who defeated Mariah Turner.
