Eddie Hearn has offered his view on whether or not Chris Eubank Jr. should now retire from boxing for good.

Eubank lost the rematch with his long-time generational rival at the start of November and barely even won a round. It was some turn around for Benn, the naturally smaller, more inexperienced man, especially given the first fight was a unanimous points win back in April.

Many have suggested that Eubank was too drained at the weight, having boiled down to 160lbs and then been hampered by a rehydration clause on the morning of the fight.

Speaking to The Sun, Matchroom CEO Hearn was asked about a potential trilogy fight, which was not in the contract, and then suggested Eubank should hang up his gloves for good, while Benn will be pursuing world title fights in 2026.

“I don’t see that fight happening. I don’t think Eubank will fight again. I said it before the presser, that first fight with Conor Benn took so much out of him. And Conor just beat the brakes off him, he won every round, dropped him in the last. Chris has made a fortune, good luck to him, he’s got kids on the way, we wish him all the best.

Eubank mooted the possibility of a trilogy in the post-fight press conference, but has been quiet since then. He has been a pro for more than 10 years, is now 36 and has had 39 fights. Although he has never won a world title, he has earned plenty through several top-level match-ups with the likes of James DeGale and George Groves, so he has little left to prove.
