Eddie Hearn has spoken about the expected heavyweight clash between young rising talent Moses Itauma and veteran Dillian Whyte.
Whyte has been rather inactive in the last couple of years following a failed drug test, which was later said to be as the result of a contaminated supplement, so he was free to fight again.
Since then he has beaten Christian Hammer in March 2024, and stopped Ebenezer Tetteh in seven rounds before then pulling out of a fight with Joe Joyce due to injury earlier in 2025.
In the past he has challenged he likes of Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury so has fought at the every top level, while Itauma is a fighter very much on the rise.
Itauma has had 12 fights, winning all 12, 10 of them by knockout and most impressively the 20-year-old stopped Demsey McKean in the first round in December, then Mike Balogun last time out inside two rounds in May.
Speaking to The Stomping Ground, Hearn broke down the contest.
“Good fight, great fight. I like it. The money is obviously fantastic, [Dillian] is at the end of his career. And I’m not saying he’s taking it just for the money, but Dillian is a game man, I’m sure he will think he will win that fight.
But it’s tremendous matchmaking, and another huge night in Riyadh. It’s just [lack of] activity. Dillian is a great heavyweight, very tough. Good luck to him. It’s not an easy fight. I think style-wise, and with Dillian’s activity, it’s a nightmare.”
The fight is expected to land on August 16 on another stacked card in Saudi Arabia.
