Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn have been on a collision course for nearly three years.

The pair were first scheduled to meet in October 2022, but on fight week it emerged that Benn had failed a drugs test and it caused the bout to be scrapped.

That led to Benn having a long and drawn out ordeal with the British Boxing Board of Control, and after two low-key victories in the USA, he is now eligible to once again compete in the UK.

Eubank Jr has had three fights since the initial bout with Benn fell through, losing to Liam Smith then avenging that defeat in the rematch, before most recently beating Kamil Szeremeta back in October.

It has paved the way for the Eubank Jr vs. Benn fight to finally be re-arranged for April 26 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, but Eubank Jr concerned some fans with a post on social media displaying an injured foot.

Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn will be the promoter for the event, and he told Boxing Social that he feels Eubank Jr could already be making excuses for a potential loss, likening his blisters to the famous David Haye toe injury against Wladimir Klitschko.

“The David Haye toe. Maybe getting the excuses ready. You wouldn’t pull the blister excuse really.”

The fight between Eubank Jr and Benn comes after a bitter rivalry between their fathers Chris Sr and Nigel over 30 years ago, and Chris Sr recently revealed exactly what he makes of Conor’s boxing ability.
