Thomas Hearns is the latest boxing icon to offer his final thoughts ahead of the Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford showdown.

After months of build-up, Canelo and Crawford will finally go head-to-head this evening at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, with the event broadcast live on Netflix.

A lot of observers felt that the size difference would be too much in the bout, with Crawford moving up two weight divisions to challenge Canelo for his undisputed super-middleweight crown.

‘Bud’ had only competed once at 154lbs in his career before this switch to 168lbs, but after the pair weighed in yesterday and looked similar in size and height, some of the sport’s biggest names are now changing their predictions in favour of Crawford.

Boxing icon Hearns has now offered his take, having known a thing or two himself about having success in higher divisions, after he became the first boxer in history to win world titles in five divisions, managing it from welterweight to light heavyweight.

Speaking to FightHype, Hearns had a simple message when revealing how he sees the fight between Canelo and Crawford going.

“It won’t be long.”

‘The Hitman’ was then asked if he thinks Crawford will be successful.

“He’s going to do a good job.”

All will be revealed when the two men do battle tonight, with Crawford hoping to prove Hearns right when he attempts to claim undisputed honours in a third division after already managing to accomplish it at super-lightweight and welterweight earlier in his career.
