Oleksandr Usyk is the current king of the heavyweight division.
The Ukrainian became undisputed at heavyweight for the second time back in July when he knocked out Daniel Dubois inside five rounds at Wembley Stadium to once again hold all four world titles.
Over two months on, fans have continued to debate who Usyk will potentially take on next, with the likes of Joseph Parker, Moses Itauma and Agit Kabayel all mentioned as potential options.
It is another heavyweight that is hoping to move himself into that world title contention though, after Hughie Fury declared that he is set to return soon.
Speaking to Boxing King Media, Fury gave an update on his next bout having not competed since back in April.
“I’m coming back with a bang. I’m in good spirits. Hopefully get out this year and then big fights next year.”
Fury was then asked if he believes anybody is capable of ever defeating Usyk.
“Yeah, me.”
Fury has a record of 30 wins and 3 defeats, and unsuccessfully challenged for the WBO heavyweight title in September 2017 when he was beaten by New Zealander Parker.
His other losses have come at the hands of Kubrat Pulev and Alexander Povetkin, but it is inactivity that has been the biggest issue for Fury in recent years, having competed on just four occasions since October 2021.
If a fight between Usyk and Fury was to take place, the Ukrainian would be looking to repeat the success he already achieved against Hughie’s cousin Tyson, having won back-to-back fights against ‘The Gypsy King’ in 2024.
