Derek Chisora has always planned to retire after his 50th fight and is taking his time to decide on who that might be with.

The popular London heavyweight has always been involved in hugely entertaining fights, win lose or draw. He has lived up to his War mantra for many years and has recently found a good run of form with wins over Gerald Washington, Otto Wallin and Joe Joyce in his last three.

He is now 41-years-old and has won 36 of his 49 fights so is looking for the perfect opponent to square off with if it is indeed one final time. Dillian Whyte was strongly linked for a trilogy fight but negotiations broke down and right now he has nothing locked in.

One heavyweight has now weighed in on Chisora’s future, as speaking to Seconds Out, American Jarrell Miller said he signed for the fight only for it to not happen.

“I’m a little disappointed in Chisora, we had a contract signed, there was a lot of bul***it going on with VADA. We been signed up. The thing with boxing is, especially with me, they know I can sell tickets, they put my name on a billboard, they sell a few thousand tickets within a few days then all of a sudden I get taken off the card cause one or two things might not be right contractually.

“Chisora was ready to go, bro. He called me three or four times. We got everything rocking and rolling and there was no problems then I’m hearing about Dillian Whyte and Jermaine Franklin and I don’t know what’s going on. Chisora is not a punk, I don’t know if some tired to intervene and sabotage it. Someone on my side in America is making deals and trying to undermine the show.”

Miller last fought in August 2024 when he drew with Andy Ruiz Jr. having been stopped by Daniel Dubois in December 2023.
