Oleksandr Usyk is the current king of the heavyweight division.
The past year saw Usyk become undisputed heavyweight champion with a victory over Tyson Fury in May 2024, and despite vacating the IBF belt, he ensured lightning struck twice in December when he defeated Fury again in their rematch to retain his titles.
Usyk is now plotting his next move, with a summer showdown against current IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois the most likely option, giving the Ukrainian the chance to become undisputed once again.
Another big name heavyweight has called out Usyk though, as he looks to become the first man to ever beat the pound-for-pound superstar.
The fighter in question is Jarrell Miller, the controversial American heavyweight who notably missed several years of his career after failing a drugs test in the build-up to a planned world title shot against Anthony Joshua in 2019.
Miller has since returned and suffered a defeat to Dubois, but put in a good performance last August as he and Andy Ruiz fought to a draw, with a lot of fans feeling ‘Big Baby’ could have got the nod.
As Miller now looks to once again rise up the heavyweight ranks, he revealed exactly why he believes he is capable of defeating Usyk.
“I’m bigger, stronger. I throw more punches, I’m more aggressive, I have a better chin, I’m more durable than these guys.
“I was the most feared heavyweight in boxing for a number of years because of my punch output, my stamina, and how I come forward…I know with a full training camp, I’ll f**king beat Usyk’s ass.”
While Miller may want a clash with Usyk, his next fight was recently announced. He is set to take on undefeated British talent Fabio Wardley in Ipswich in June.
The stadium fight winner will likely then face the winner of Kubrat Pulev vs Michael Hunter for the WBA Regular belt and be first in line for a shot at Usyk, however the Ukrainian may have just hung up the gloves by then.
