“I’m Coming Back For All The Belts”: Former Heavyweight Champion Has One Aim On Ring Return

A former world heavyweight champion has made his next intentions perfectly clear.

The heavyweight division currently features a number of stars, including unified champion Olesksandr Usyk, who became undisputed in 2024 until vacating the IBF belt.

That title is now held by Daniel Dubois, who looks set for a clash with Usyk this summer, while the likes of Joseph Parker and Agit Kabayel appear to be on the cusp of world title shots too.

There is another man that plans on holding world honours again, having once been a long-time heavyweight champion that made 10 defences of his belt.

That is Deontay Wilder, who is scheduled to return to action in June after over a year out of the ring when he faces Tyrrell Herndon.

It’s been a tough period for Wilder, with ‘The Bronze Bomber’ losing four of his last five fights, but he told TMZ Sports he still wants to be world champion again.

“I’m coming back for all the belts, you know the heavyweight division I brought it back years ago in 2015 and I’m gonna bring it back again.”

He then discussed the fight with Herndon, insisting that he won’t be overlooking his rival despite being a big favourite for the bout.

“I’m taking him seriously, we’ve got a lot of fights lined up for this year, two for sure but three maybe. It’s going to be a great fight whilst it lasts but this warm up, tune up, I’m taking it serious and once completing the task then we move on into the limelight of the bigger and better fights. This is the tester.”

A potential future match-up for Wilder could be a clash with Anthony Joshua. It’s a fight that has been speculated for a number of years, and unified champion Usyk has predicted how it would go.
