Deontay Wilder went 44 fights unbeaten in his career.
Of that number, only two fights went the distance – a unanimous decision over Bermaine Stiverne and a draw with Tyson Fury. It was the second bout with Fury that saw the man from Alabama take his first loss. That knockout was followed by another against Fury.
He has since been beaten by both Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang and bitter rival Jarrell Miller is tired of hearing excuses. He told Box Nation that Wilder was a ‘b***h.’
“He’s a bitch. Wilder’s a big bitch. I’ve never seen anybody that has more excuses and has so much enthusiasm to see someone else lose. He ain’t do s**t when he went out there [against Joseph Parker]. He was like a sitting duck. That had to be the most one-sided fight on the entire card.”
Following the Parker loss, Wilder said inactivity and travel were to blame. The reasons he gave paled in comparison to what was said following his two losses to Fury, which included a curse put on him, spiked water and loaded gloves.
Miller – who recently suffered his first defeat against Daniel Dubois and made excuses of his own – believes it’s the telltale signs of a ‘punk.’
“I was in camp before, spent a lot of money, I took some time off, got an opportunity and jumped on it. I’m taking the blame for myself. I’m not blaming nobody else. Deontay has an excuse every time he gets his ass whooped. Shut up, bro. You a punk. Simple as that. Don’t talk all that s**t on camera and never say it to my face ever.”
The hard-hitting American hasn’t spoken out following his loss to Zhang. Many have called on him to retire – a path he admitted pre-fight was an option.
