Moses Itauma is one of the most exciting heavyweights in the division right now.

The Slovakian-born, British fighter is just 20-years-old but has already got fans in Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, who see him as the future of the division.

In his last three fights, he stopped Mariusz Wach, Demsey McKean and Mike Balogun inside the first two rounds, and now he takes a step up against Dillian Whyte in August.

Ahead of that, speaking to The Stomping Ground, former Daniel Dubois victim Jarrell Miller mused on where Itauma is at right now and praised Whyte for taking the fight.

“Do we really know how good Itauma is? No, he’s a young guy they’re hyping in the UK, and they’re trying to build his name. Respect to Dillian Whyte for taking the fight. Off of not being active, I’m surprised [he’s taken it.]. Dillian Whyte is a warrior, he’s gonna fight, but I feel like maybe he needs some activity but maybe he knows something we don’t know.”

He then expanded on that and suggested Itauma has been down in sparring.

“I heard a lot of stories about Itauma sparring and getting touched and getting dropped and s***t, so who knows. Getting wobbled in the gym, getting dropped in the gym, I don’t know the sparring partners. I hear a lot of s**t.”

What we do know is that Itauma has had 12 fights, won 11 of them by KO, shown no signs of a vulnerable chin and right now is one of the fastest rising forces in the division. A win against an experienced former world title challenger like Whyte would really announce him on the world stage.
